Media and Communications Intern

Summary

Students will be provided first-hand experience in the field of communications, including advertising, public relations, photography and graphic design. Interns will have the opportunity to select different aspects of the media and communication program, so the internship fits their needs and interest. Interns will create marketing and advertising campaigns for the programs, spread community awareness and create content for the website.  Graphic design and web design are two areas in which the interns will work creating and designing collateral for the nonprofit and its programs.


We pride ourselves to provide the intern with projects that are fun but also stimulating towards their career goals, while creating a fun and engaging environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution 

  • Major in business administration, marketing, communications or a related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook; beginner knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, and HTML is helpful but not required

  • Knowledge on popular platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, and Tumblr

  • Must be very dependable as well as accountable

  • Must follow instructions well, able to multi-task — keeping deadlines is a must

Activity Coordinator Intern

Summary

Students will be involved in a hands-on learning experience in the field of special education and Kinesiology. GOALS has a special partnership and collaboration with My Day Counts- a nonprofit that helps individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. Interns will function as Program Leaders at GOALS to assist staff and run activities such as sports, job-training and gardening for the My Day Counts participants. Intern will be responsible for planning and implementing activities of their choice. 

We are looking for someone who is energetic and creative that can help us expand this unique program. 

Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution

  • Major in Kinesiology, Special Education, Health and Humanities or closely related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organized 

  • Creative and energetic

  • Comfortable working around those with physical and intellectual disabilities
